Flight Logbook
Until a few years ago there was a discussion about what was the minimum size of a rocket to reach Earth orbit. The era of large launchers capable of carrying multi-ton satellites was in full swing, tipping the pitch that way.
In July 1999, J. C. Whitehead of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (USA) published a paper entitled “How Small Can a Launch Vehicle Be?”, in which he clearly established that the more a vehicle shrinks, there will be a loss of efficiency but that as technology allows it, this difficulty would be overcome. This is the challenge with which our project was born. More than fifteen years ago, the founders of the company raised their glove and proposed the construction of a rocket with unprecedented characteristics, taking advantage of the maturation of various technologies and their adaptation to the aerospace industry. This path of search and investigation created multiple innovations. The original idea was put into practice.
Tlon Space S.A. is a private capital company whose objective is to provide the service of raising third party satellites into orbit. This is a civil project that adheres to the principles of plural and peaceful use of space, developing industrial capacities with high added value.
For this it was necessary to develop an ultralight space launch vehicle (rocket) that allows continuous and efficient operation. Thus, we understood that for the operation to be as expected, all aspects of the development had to be approached with strict economic parameters and the result was an industrially scalable product, easy to handle and launch, without forgetting the protection of the environment and safety.
Our manufacturing has a network of suppliers made up of engineers and scientists of high academic level, many of whom have developed alongside the project, reaching standards that exceed international standards and are highly compatible with the aerospace industry. We want to highlight the participation of our national industry in all areas of our project.
Our shareholders make up a prestigious advisory committee with extensive experience and trajectory in the information technology and telecommunications industry; industrial engineering; the Oil & Gas sector, business consulting; and construction, logistics and financial services. From their professional experience and thanks to their numerous international network of contacts, our shareholders provide Tlon Space S.A. a fundamental guide for your business development.
